II. 知识延长线
澳大利亚非常注重人才综合素质的培养，他们从小学就开始进行野外生存训练. 孩子们从小学三年级起接受最初的野外生存训练(camp and field training)。第一次野营时间只有一两天，训练内容也较简单。随着年龄的增加，内容也逐渐丰富起来。在升入中学后，有的学校甚至在一年内安排冬季和夏季两次野营训练。野外生存训练的长短和强度根据学校的安排和学生的年龄有所不同，训练科目亦有许多种。
